\u201cInfluenced by my family, I have been drawn to ethnic cultures since I was a child. Among the various styles around the world, I felt an indescribable, mystical allure in tattoos that are deeply rooted in the history and daily life of their lands\u2014such as ‘Sak Yant,’ the Buddhist tattoos of Thailand, Polynesian tattoos, and ‘Hajichi’ from Okinawa.\u201d<\/p>

Even after growing into adulthood, the world of tattooing remained something sacred and special to her. \u201cSuminagashi is an ancient Japanese technique where ink is floated on the surface of water, allowing the forces of nature, like water and wind, to help shape the patterns. Creating patterns on the water’s surface with my own hands, and then infusing color into the client\u2019s skin needle by needle with my own hands… Feeling the texture of the client\u2019s skin through my fingertips while simultaneously conveying my expression… I believe that the accumulation of this dialogue makes the artwork even more special and filled with warmth.
